The military joint force composed of about five groups active in Southern Mon State and Tanesserim Division launched attacks on the junta outpost near navy bases using drones, the Mon State Revolutionary Force’s page reported today March 23, 2024 local time.
The statement said that ten enemy military soldiers of junta got killed during about three hours long arm exchanges and one of their alliance soldiers died and one wounded.
The military outpost that burned down is important to protect the Moravati navy base in the southern part of the country, said the statement. About 70 member soldiers and Pyu Saw Hti militia force who together protected the base ran away after losing the base, said that statement. According to the joint force video clip, they can seize the base.
The southern navy base is very important to protect the Total gas pipeline between Burma and Thailand. The Yebyu township navy base also takes responsibility to protect the pipeline that is the main income source for the military junta.
The statement said that the joint force also attacked another junta military base sitting along the motor highway using drones, but no casualty has been reported. The alliance force reins the motor highway in southern Mon State and Tanesserim Division.
